Well my birthday celebration just finished up, and it was fantastic :) I really do have a wonderful family. I got new Gingher knife edge sewing scissors! Yay!! I also got a gift certificate to our local quilt store, Glacier Quilts. I'm excited to decide what my next project will be so I can spend my gift card on some new gorgeous fabrics! Plus since it's my birthday month I get a discount at Glacier Quilts, so my gift card will go even farther.
Louie seems to approve of my gifts as well :)
I think I forgot to mention in my last post that all those black threads are basting threads and are holding the paper pieces in place. They will stay in for stability until I sew the next rows on and sew the flowers together.
So it's been a good week. I'm working on an orange flower next. Orange is a favorite of mine, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished project. :)

It would look better without the black strings ;)
Definitely, but I'm not taking that basting out until the very, very, very last second! I don't want any chance of all that hard work coming unraveled!
I love your hexies!
